James has been traditionally trained in classical sculpture which still informs his artistic style. He works in stone, wood and bronze, priveleging traditional techniques and skills, above more modern sculptural methods. The artistic process is both a dialogue and a commission to create on behalf of a client, which not only motivates his work, but is his élan vital and artistic impetus.
